EXCEPTS FROM THE BOOK

The doctor had asked my father, "How long have you had this lump?"  My father's reply was, "I didn't know I had a lump!"  It wasn't something that was visible.  It was under the surface of the skin. Little did we know that, at this point, our family doctor already knew that this was very serious. 

As I walked through the doors to come back out into the waiting room, my son was standing there waiting for me.  He could tell by my face that something was wrong and asked me what was going on.  I just looked at him and fell back against the wall.  I told my son, "Something is really wrong, I'm not sure what it is but I know that something is very wrong."

I read somewhere that in order to grow, you have to let go.  So I have decided that it's the beginning of a new decade for me, the beginning of a new year and the beginning of a new life.  This is a decision I chose to make.
